Privacy Policy

Version 2.0 · Last updated September 15, 2026 · Effective September 15, 2026

The short version

ShowMate is built local-first. The core app runs entirely on your own device, and your inventory, sales, buys, and trades are stored there — not on our servers. You can use ShowMate day to day without creating an account or sending us your business data.

We collect personal information only when you create a Pro account, and only what we need to sign you in, bill you, and sync your devices if you turn that on. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

This summary is for convenience. The sections below control.

1. Who we are

ShowMate is operated by LDC Collectibles LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as "ShowMate" ("we," "us," "our"). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

LDC Collectibles LLC
d/b/a ShowMate
12221 Towne Lake Dr, Ste A, PMB 110
Fort Myers, FL 33913
[email protected]

2. Data stored on your device

Your catalog, price snapshot, inventory, cost basis, customer notes, and full transaction history are stored locally in your device's browser storage (IndexedDB).

This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us unless you explicitly export it and send it to us, or you enable Pro device sync (Section 3.3). We cannot see it, access it, or recover it.

Because it lives on your device, clearing your browser storage, using private browsing, uninstalling the app, or losing the device will remove it. Use the built-in export tools to keep your own backups.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Account information (Pro only)

If you create an account for Pro features, we collect and store your email address. We use it to sign you in via a one-time "magic link," to identify your subscription and registered devices, and to contact you about your account.

3.2 Billing information (Pro only)

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.. You provide your payment details directly to them, subject to their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We receive from the processor only what we need to manage your subscription: a customer identifier, subscription status and plan, the last four digits and brand of your payment method, and billing country and postal code.

3.3 Sync data (Pro only, and only if you enable it)

If you turn on device-to-device sync, the inventory and transaction data needed to reconcile your devices is transmitted to and stored on our sync service so your other devices can retrieve it.

  • In transit: encrypted using TLS.
  • At rest: encrypted at rest by our hosting provider (Cloudflare). This data is not end-to-end encrypted: our systems can technically access it, and we access it only as needed to operate and troubleshoot the sync service.
  • Retention: We retain the most recent synced state for each of your registered devices while sync is enabled, and delete it when you remove a device or close your account.

Sync is off by default. If you never enable it, your business data never reaches us.

3.4 Technical and log information

When you load the website or app, or when your device contacts our servers to download a price snapshot or sync data, our servers and our hosting provider automatically log standard technical information: IP address, user agent, referring page, requested URL, timestamp, and response status. We use these logs for security, abuse prevention, and reliability, and we retain them for approximately 30 days.

3.5 Analytics and cookies

We do not use analytics services, advertising trackers, or tracking cookies. The app uses your device's local storage to hold your data and your settings, and Pro accounts use a session token to keep you signed in. That is all.

3.6 Communications

If you email us for support, we receive your message, your email address, and anything else you choose to include. We retain support correspondence for 24 months.

4. What we do not collect

We do not collect your inventory, your customers, your sales figures, your cost basis, or your transaction history — unless you enable Pro sync, in which case Section 3.3 applies. Browsing the catalog and pricing your cards offline sends nothing anywhere.

We do not collect precise geolocation, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising purposes.

5. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • create, secure, and operate your account;
  • authenticate you via magic link;
  • process and manage your Pro subscription and billing;
  • operate optional features you turn on, such as device sync;
  • send you transactional messages about your account, billing, security, and material service changes;
  • respond to your support requests;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your business data to train machine learning models.

6. Catalog and pricing data

Card catalog information, market pricing, graded population data, and comparable sales are licensed from our third-party data providers and bundled into the on-device snapshot you download. Downloading a snapshot tells our servers that a device requested it — it does not tell us, or our data providers, which cards you looked at, priced, bought, or sold.

7. When we share information

We share personal information only in these circumstances:

Service providers. With vendors who perform services for us and who are permitted to use the information only for that purpose:

ProviderPurposeWhat they receive
Cloudflare, Inc.Website and app hosting, CDN, securityTechnical and log data
Stripe, Inc.Subscription billingEmail, payment and billing details
ResendMagic-link and transactional email deliveryEmail address, message content
Cloudflare, Inc. (D1)Pro device sync storageSynced inventory data, account identifier

Legal. If required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others. Where we are legally permitted to do so, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you first.

Business transfer. If LDC Collectibles LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and this policy will continue to apply until the acquirer provides notice of a different policy.

With your direction. When you ask us to share it.

8. Data retention

  • Account information: kept while your account is active, and deleted within 90 days of account closure, except where we must retain records longer for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.
  • Billing records: retained as required by law — generally seven years for tax and accounting.
  • Sync data: as described in Section 3.3.
  • Server logs: as described in Section 3.4.
  • Support correspondence: as described in Section 3.6.
  • On-device data: kept until you delete it. We have no role in this.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the limited personal information we hold, including encryption in transit (TLS), passwordless authentication via one-time magic links, access controls limiting who can reach production systems, and reputable third-party infrastructure providers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting access to the email account associated with your ShowMate account, since anyone with access to it can request a sign-in link.

If we experience a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulators as and when required by applicable law, including Florida's Information Protection Act.

10. Your choices and rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

  • Use ShowMate without an account, keeping all business data on your device;
  • Export your data at any time using the built-in CSV, PDF, and structured export tools;
  • Access, correct, or delete the account information we hold, by emailing [email protected];
  • Close your account, which deletes your account information subject to Section 8;
  • Disable sync at any time, which stops new data from reaching our servers;
  • Opt out of non-transactional email. Note that we will still send you essential messages about your account, billing, and security while your account is active.

State privacy rights. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights — including to know what personal information we have collected, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Some of these laws apply only to businesses above certain revenue or volume thresholds that we do not currently meet. We honor these requests from all U.S. users regardless of whether we are legally required to, because the amount of personal information we hold is small enough that doing so costs us nothing. To make a request, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account. We will respond within 45 days. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf; we may ask for proof of that authorization.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of in that respect.

11. Children

The Service is a business tool intended for users 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

12. Where the Service is offered

ShowMate is intended for use in the United States, and our servers and service providers are located in the United States. We do not currently offer the Service to residents of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, and this policy is not written to satisfy the GDPR or UK GDPR. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. For non-material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. For material changes — in particular, any change that would expand what we collect, or how we use or share it — we will notify account holders by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.

We will not apply a materially different practice to personal information we already collected under an earlier version of this policy without your consent.

Prior versions are available on request.
